We are delighted to announce the release of our 2010 La Luna Red Blend.
2010 was a memorable year not least for the tornado that swept through the valley during flowering, substantially reducing our crop. Fortunately the rest of the season was good with the surviving fruit ripening slowly giving beautiful phenolics and character.
Made from 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot, 7% Petit Verdot, 6% Cabernet Franc and 6% Malbec this Bordeaux Blend boasts concentrated fruit flavours, gentle tannins and fresh acidity.
Although well aged in our cellar, this wine will continue to develop further and show seamless elegance and full bodied flavour.
Not only is La Luna available from selected wine shops and the best restaurants but from October it will also be paired with dishes by Chef Eric Bulpitt at the new restaurant FABER at Avondale. Chef Eric felt nostalgic when tasting the La Luna 2010 and said it reminded him of early summer’s afternoon; the smell of hay in the air and deep red berries ripening. He pictured a glass of La Luna with Seared Fallow Deer loin crusted in watercress stems and dried onion, hay smoked beet and summer berries: pickled, fermented and fresh.
This truly sounds like a pairing in harmony with the celestial forces of the moon, after which our La Luna takes its name. Make sure you book your place at FABER here to ensure you don’t miss out on this extraordinary pairings.
