Staged at top restaurants in Durban, Johannesburg and Cape Town, Avondale’s inaugural Rainbow Nation celebration invites connoisseurs on a gastronomic adventure to explore the uniqueness of the South African palate. The Rainbow Nation culinary series ranges through the medley of flavour sensations offered by our traditional Indian, African and Cape cuisines; and it highlights our modern-day expertise in presenting delicious old-time favourites with contemporary flair. It’s a unique opportunity to experience the versatility of Avondale’s range of extraordinary wines as they complement very different traditional dishes in each city. In essence, it is the consistently superb experience of Avondale’s wines that highlights South Africa’s unity in its rich cultural diversity.
This innovative food & wine journey has a sensational spicy Indian beginning with a Pop-Up Restaurant in Durban on the31st of August 2014. The next stop on this voyage of cultural discovery is an African feast at Roots Restaurant at Forum Homini, outside of Johannesburg on national Heritage Day, 24th of September. The series closes in style in the Mother City on the 1st of October, Mondiall at the V & A Waterfront will prepare a traditional Cape Town menu which will take you back in time.
